Three wonders of Sakhalin. The Torii Gate – the Klokovsky Waterfall - Tikhaya Bay.
It is quite real to visit three different places in one day! Each of them is imbued with its unique atmosphere and history.
Our first stop will be at Vzmorie, a village of fishermen. It is famous not only for fishing, but also for the historical monument of Japanese culture – the Torii Gate. According to tradition, the gate was installed in front of the entrance to the territory of a Shinto temple.
A wonderful view opens up from the upper platform. Using the binoculars installed on the observation deck, you can see seals playing in the waves.
At the Vzmorie fish market you can buy freshly cooked crab. We, in our turn, will offer you crab meat on this trip. You will not stay hungry!
We will make our second stop in this mini-journey near the Klokowski Waterfall. It is 49 meters high and has three steps. The waterfall got its name because of the Cape Klokova (Klokov’s Cape), not far from which it is located.
And, of course, the most exciting stop will be at Tikhaya Bay. It is a unique place where the silence gets broken only by the noise of the surf and the cries of seagulls. It is a corner of solitude with the nature. Huge rocks, stones, seaside vegetation - here you will be surrounded by an incredible variety of shapes and colors.
