Cape Eustathia is not just a mere geographical point on the map. It is a picturesque place where every stone, rustle of surf and winds tell their own stories. They can be funny, with a touch of melancholy in them, or be filled with pure delight. Which of the stories will you learn?
So, the route is between Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Novikovo village and Cape Eustathia. Gathering time is at 07:00. Let's go!
On the way to the cape, we will make a stop beside the blue lakes. This tourist destination in Novikovo is man-made, but before there was a coal open mine in their place during time of the Soviet Union. The mine was closed and the open pit got filled with rainwater. The turquoise color of the water is given to it by sulfosalts and germanates. Bathing in the lakes is prohibited, but at least we will take beautiful pictures instead!
After reaching Cape Eustathia and climbing the 51-meter-high mountain, a majestic view opens up for us to see. This panorama creates a feeling of flight! We will see Cape Pavlovich and Cape Aniva from here.
The water is so crystal clear that you can easily see the sea bottom. And looking around, breathing in the salty air from the sea, you will feel how beautiful and diverse our life is!
