We are going to the eastern coast of the Sea of Okhotsk, to Cape Menaputsi and Lake Ptichye.
The route will pass near the popular artificial "Turquoise Lakes" located in the village of Novikovo. Also, we will see lakes Barguzinskoe and Lebyazhie.
Lake Ptichye is just a large lagoon with a kilometer long spit and a complicated shoreline. It is located on the Tonino-Anivsky Peninsula. On the shores of the lake archeologists have found ancient encampments.
During the Karafuto governorate, there was a settlement called "Minabetsu" which stands for "cold water". Indeed, there is a spring with the purest and most delicious water.
The trip will take the whole day. We will leave in the morning and return to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk by the evening of the same day. Fishermen will enjoy this trip most! You can fish on the lakes or in the sea. Depending on the time of the year, it is possible to catch white-spotted char, greenling, pink salmon and saffron cod.
